Bill Cloutier has a preview capsule for the NCAA Division II softball regional to be held at Southern Connecticut beginning Friday. SCSU, Caldwell, Assumption and UMass-Lowell all involved.

Cloutier also has preview capsule of Yale's Ivy League men's lacrosse tournament game with Cornell.

Joe Morelli is at the Challenge Cup where State Amateurs go for fourth straight win over the Connecticut Section pros at New Haven CC.

Dave Borges has news on UConn men;s basketball, with Michael Bradley's transfer to Western Kentucky finalized and a commit tweeting his intentions.

All-Area and All-State special section for winter sports will run in Friday paper, along with All-State teams for boys and girls basketball and hockey.

Dan Nowak breaks down the Kentucky Derby and offers picks from area people in our Triple Crown special section appearing Friday.
