Dan Nowak had this a while back, but just a reminder of a high school hockey doubleheader this week at Quinnipiac's TD Bank Sports Center.

I've always been a big fan of colleges opening up their arenas for high school athletes to compete.

On Wednesday the Hamden boy’s and girl’s Ice Hockey teams will be playing a doubleheader at the TD Bank Sports Center (Quinnipiac University) as the first annual “Neighbor Night”. The event will feature the boy’s and girl’s ice hockey teams to face off against North Haven High School. The girls hit the ice first at 5:00pm, followed by the boy’s at 7:00pm. General Admission for the event will be $5.00.


Last season, the Hamden girl’s ice hockey team played Guilford High School as part of a female ice hockey festival at the TD Bank Sports Center that also featured team USA Women’s Ice Hockey against ECAC Hockey All-Stars and the Connecticut Polar Bears youth organization against the New Jersey Generals. The Hamden boy’s ice hockey team also hosted Fairfield Prep at the TD Bank Sports Center.
