Tuesday's Best

A daily look at the best in the local sports scene ....


Hillhouse plays host to Wilbur Cross in the first annual Elm City luge competition at Yale Bowl at 4 p.m. Well, they probably could. It might actually be the only thing that would have been played Tuesday.

If, and that's a big if, weather permits, the girls basketball teams from Hamden Hall and Hopkins will play at the Beckerman Center on the campus of Hamden Hall at 4:30 p.m.

The second part of the Hopkins-Hamden Hall basketball doubleheader would take play at 6:30 p.m. with the boys playing.

The NVL indoor track championships are scheduled for 4:30 at the New  Haven Athletic Center. There are some exceptional competitors in this league from Woodland, Seymour, Holy Cross and Wilby. Those four always seem to have strong showings in state meets.
