A look at the best of the daily sports scene ...

-- The No. 3 ranked Yale men's hockey team starts its final home weekend of the regular season with a game against Colgate at Ingalls Rink starting at 7 p.m. The game is sold out. You can get audio and video at http://www.yalebulldogs.com/

The Bulldogs need a Union loss and two wins to leapfrog to the ECAC Hockey title and earn the top seed for the ECAC playoffs.

Quinnipiac plays at Union Friday at 7 in  a game that can be heard on http://www.wqun.com/

-- The Yale men's basketball team plays its final two home games of the season this weekend, starting against Dartmouth Friday at 7 p.m. Tickets are available for both games.

-- In high school wrestling, the State Open begins at 5:30 p.m. at the New Haven Athletic Center

-- In high school girls basketball, two locals compete on conference championship games:
Hamden Hall plays host to Masters for the Fairchester League title at 5 p.m. and Coginchaug plays host to Portland for the Shoreline title at 7 p.m.

-- In high school boys basketballHamden Hall plays host to Rye, N.Y. at 7 p.m. in the Fairchester League semifinal. In the other semifinal, Hopkins travels to play at St. Luke's of New Canaan
