Thursday's Best

A daily look at the best on the local sports scene ...

-- The UConn men play host to Marquette at 7 p.m. in their final XL Center appearance of the 2010-11 season. The game can be seen on ESPN.

-- The Quinnipiac men, winners of four straight games, play host to Monmouth at 7 p.m. at the TD Bank Sports Center. Two wins and the Bobcats lock up the No. 2 seed in the Northeast Conference tournament.

-- In other men's basketball, Albertus Magnus plays in the second round of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference at Johnson & Wales tonight at 7.

-- In girls basketball, Lauralton Hall takes on Newtown in the South-West Conference final at Pomperaug. This can be a preview of a CIAC Class L tournament game.
